Clear Engineering Recruitment is seeking a Service Manager to lead a high-performing service organization for HVAC and mission-critical cooling systems across the United States. Responsibilities

Lead and manage the field service function, including service supervisors, technicians, and third-party partners
Ensure service activities meet contractual obligations, safety standards, and quality expectations
Oversee warranty support activities, including claims review, root cause analysis, and cost control
Drive consistent execution of service processes, documentation, and reporting standards
Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor service personnel
Develop and implement technical training plans covering commissioning, installation support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
Establish and track service KPIs including response time, first-time fix rate, customer satisfaction, and warranty trends
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Serve as the primary escalation point for service-related customer issues
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and critical customers
Proactively identify service opportunities that improve uptime, reliability, and customer retention
Partner with Engineering, Technical Support, Quality, and Sales to resolve systemic issues and improve product performance
Provide structured field feedback to support design, quality, and process improvements
Ensure accurate and timely completion of service reports, work orders, and warranty documentation within CRM/ERP systems

Required

5+ years of service management or field service leadership experience within HVAC, refrigeration, industrial cooling, or mission-critical environments
Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, controls, and chiller technologies
Practical understanding of commissioning, diagnostics, and field troubleshooting
Ability to analyse service data, identify trends, and implement improvement initiatives
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop technical teams
Strong customer-facing communication and problem-resolution skills
Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing competing priorities
Willingness to travel domestically as required to support customers and field teams

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC/R Engineering, or a related discipline preferred (or equivalent technical and service leadership experience)
EPA Universal 608 certification preferred
