Responsibilities

Provide complete nursing care for patients before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures
Administer contrast media and conscious sedation per policy, demonstrate IV competence, and prepare sterile trays/catheters for procedures
Execute pre-procedural verifications, time-outs, and site marking. Verify patient ID using two identifiers and ensure all orders are clarified and followed correctly
Coordinate daily patient schedules, transport patients, and serve as a key communication link between patients, families, and physicians. Review cases with physicians as needed
Maintain ACLS/BLS certification and assist in emergency situations in a decisive, composed manner
Provide thorough patient and family education, including post-procedural home care instructions
Must be flexible with hours and participate in the scheduled on-call rotation to meet department needs

Required

Registered Nurse (RN)
Interventional Radiology
ICU/CCU/ER or Cath Lab Experience
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license or Multi-State Compact RN license
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Previous experience in ICU, CCU, ER, or Cath Lab is required
Must possess strong critical thinking, excellent time management, and collaborative customer service skills
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies appropriately
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Possess basic computer skills

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Interventional Radiology experience is a significant plus
