Responsibilities

Performs entry level General/OB/ and/or Vascular ultrasound procedures for physician review

Performs exams based on patient anatomy and habitus

Assists Radiologists and other Physicians in the performance of exams and procedures that require a physician

Performs exams in all areas of the hospital such as portables on units, portables in ED and portables in OR

Prepares patients for interventional procedures

Maintains the integrity of a sterile field during procedures that require one

Completes hospital/department forms per protocol

Assists Imaging Support in locating films, printing reports, and assisting physicians

Demonstrates safe skill implementation and completes equipment/procedural change in-services by performing technical skills at a level consistent with or higher than level achieved during initial competency check-off

Qualification

Registered Diagnostic Medical SonographerRegistered Technologist Radiography ARRTBasic Life Support - CPRUltrasound experienceHospital-based ultrasound training

Required

High School Diploma/GED

Six months experience performing ultrasound in a clinical setting either training or working

Basic Life Support - CPR

Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or

Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR)

Completion of hospital-based ultrasound training program

Preferred

One year experience working and performing ultrasound in a clinical setting
