Semafor is a global news platform focused on delivering transparent and rigorous journalism. They are seeking an early-career journalist for a paid, entry-level Newsroom Fellow position, where the fellow will assist the US politics team in producing briefings and conducting research alongside senior journalists.

Responsibilities

Work in a small team, providing critical administrative, production, research, and other logistical support

At the direction of editors, provide research and support for the reporting of stories and the production of briefings and other products

Work with the Breaking News Editor to write World at a Glance items and breaking news stories for a globally aware and sophisticated audience

Stay on top of a broad range of issues to be able to identify topics of most interest to readers

Collaborate closely with the rest of Editorial work seamlessly across all of Semafor, and contribute to other products as they are developed

Knowledge of and interest in the workings of the White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court among other US state institutions are essential for this role
