Business Development Specialist
NVS Strategic Solutions is seeking a Business Development & Client Growth Manager to support revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing client opportunities across government contracting, professional services, and training engagements. This role focuses on relationship-building, consultative selling, and pipeline development.
Responsibilities
You will actively source and engage potential clients through LinkedIn, referrals, partnerships, events, and warm outreach
You’ll manage the full pre-sales lifecycle including discovery calls, qualification, follow-up, proposal coordination, and handoff to delivery teams
You will maintain accurate pipeline tracking using CRM tools and ensure leadership has visibility into deal status, forecasting, and next steps
You’ll stay engaged with prospects over time, educate them on NVS offerings, and position NVS as a trusted advisor—not a commodity service provider
This includes identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
You’ll collaborate closely with proposal, capture, and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with client needs and that pricing, scope, and timelines are realistic and positioned for long-term success
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in business development, sales, or client growth within government contracting, consulting, or professional services
Understanding of longer sales cycles and comfort in nurturing relationships over weeks or months
Confident communication with executives, founders, and government-facing businesses
Organized, proactive, and disciplined with follow-up
Ability to listen, ask smart questions, and connect solutions to real problems
Comfortable working in CRMs and tracking pipeline data
Accountability to revenue goals
Preferred
Experience with GovCon terminology
Familiarity with federal/sled markets
Experience with consulting retainers
