ENGINEER PLANNING ANALYST 3
HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding is the largest industrial employer in Virginia, specializing in the design and construction of U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. The Engineer Planning Analyst 3 will be responsible for preparing and coordinating plans and schedules for programs, analyzing project impacts, and providing program support through reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities
Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs
Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements
Supports and participates in negotiations with customer
Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources
Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters
Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements
Provides support to the Future Submarine Propulsion Plant Technical Program Office
Responsible for coordination of certain program deliverables, development of program processes and guidelines, tracking of quality metrics, basic data analysis, reporting and general program support
Required to prepare and communicate reports, presentations, and data to different stakeholders
Regular coordination, meetings and communication within E&D, NNL, Supply Chain and other departments is expected
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience
Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience
NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Preferred
General programmatic knowledge (financial, schedule, deliverables)
General awareness of ship propulsion plants
Basic data reporting and analysis (Excel, SAP, SQL, Power BI)
