New GradGuideStar Eldercare is offering a multi-dimensional, outpatient geriatric psychology post-doctoral fellowship focused on providing behavioral health and neuro-cognitive services to residents of long-term care facilities. The role involves working alongside licensed psychologists, conducting evaluations, and coordinating care for patients with various dementia-related conditions.
Responsibilities
Provide evaluation
Establish different diagnosis, i.e. Alzheimer's vs. Parkinson's vs. Vascular Cognitive Assessment
Provide condition-specific support therapy, or when indicated, insight-based therapy
Coordinate the patient's care plan with the facility, PCP and GuideStar colleagues, and to engage with the family as indicated
Qualification
Required
PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
Experience in geriatric psychology, health psychology, and/or neuropsychology
Ability to provide evaluation and establish different diagnoses, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Vascular cognitive assessments
Willingness to accept challenges of working with an atypical geropsychiatric population
Flexibility to work in diverse care settings including assisted living, skilled rehabilitation, and memory care units
Ability to coordinate patient care plans with facility staff, primary care providers, and family members
Commitment to providing high-quality care in a multidisciplinary team environment
Vaccination against the flu
Passing a drug test as part of the hiring process
