Activities Assistant

Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) is seeking an Activities Assistant to join their vibrant evening and weekend programming team. This role focuses on creating meaningful experiences for adult participants through activities, clubs, and community outings, while ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Supervision of participants in evening and weekend recreation and leisure programming to ensure a positive experience
Participate in leading activities, clubs, electives, and excursions
Provide elective course instruction in the categories around the T.E.A.C.H. framework as needed, including subbing for elective instructors as needed
Educate participants in the surrounding areas of Richfield, Bloomington, and Edina, including ongoing education in public transportation for programming to support independence
Provide transportation and support for scheduled shuttles to grocery stores, YMCA, etc
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Adults with disabilitiesInterpersonal skillsOrganizational skillsCommunication skills

Required

High School Diploma required
A valid Minnesota driver's license in good standing is required
Must reside in Minnesota
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary

Preferred

some college or Associate's degree preferred
Experience working with adults with learning disabilities is preferred
