Responsibilities
This is a primarily technical position rather than a creative one, though there are opportunities for creative input
At this time, we are looking for an on set camera & lighting aficionado. This role will consist of roughly 60% on-set technical work (camera operating/management, lighting, equipment management, travel for filming, etc.) and 40% post-production (editing, basic motion graphics, etc.)
The Video Specialist should be proficient with video production
Able to capture quality footage, including polished interview setups, high-value profile shots, scrappy unscripted style, b-roll, and more
Extremely knowledgeable about working with a variety of camera types and tools, including tripods, monopods, handheld, Easyrig, etc
Knowledgeable with lighting and grip equipment, techniques, and strategies for both indoor and outdoor projects
Can work effectively both as part of a film crew under a DP, and as an independent one-man band without backup
Able to record quality in-camera sound on location
Able to troubleshoot and handle problems on the go
Comfortable and composed when engaging with a variety of people, from high-profile guests to pedestrians, including occasional hostile situations because of politically-charged content
The Video Specialist should be proficient with video post-production
Skilled at editing, sound editing, color correction, and light motion graphics
Knowledgeable with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects, as well as audio software such as ProTools and/or Audition (Logic Pro is a plus)
A knowledge of codecs, file types, file structures, and post processes
Able to work directly with multiple creative leads and managers to discuss and implement editorial notes
Able to take ownership of work, but also able to hand off work to be finished by someone else, or to pick up where others have left off, when necessary
Has an eye for crafting story, and for turning footage into narrative episodes within the guidelines of a show format or brand
Knowledge of After Effects & motion graphics highly desired
