Director of Leadership Development

PACK Companies is seeking a Director of Leadership Development to design, implement, and manage their leadership development strategy across several specialty contracting companies. This role involves strategic program design, hands-on facilitation, coaching, and developing leadership systems to enhance leadership capabilities within the organization.

Responsibilities

Build and own a comprehensive leadership development roadmap aligned with organizational goals and the unique needs of a specialty construction environment
Identify core leadership competencies for office leaders, ensuring alignment with company values and operational expectations
Assess leadership gaps and create data-informed strategies to close them
Design, implement, and continuously improve leadership training programs for office roles (project managers, estimators, coordinators, emerging leaders, directors)
Facilitate high-impact workshops, cohort programs, and learning experiences
Partner with internal subject-matter experts and external vendors as needed
Develop and oversee a scalable coaching framework for leaders at all levels
Provide direct coaching to emerging and mid-level leaders
Implement and manage a formal mentorship program, matching mentors and mentees and tracking outcomes
Build structured development pathways for staff involved in project delivery, focusing on communication, influence, decision-making, and accountability
Collaborate with operations leaders to integrate leadership practices into project kickoff, project execution, and closeout processes
Support cross-functional leadership development efforts across the five specialty contractor divisions
Embed leadership expectations into performance management, succession planning, and talent reviews
Partner with People & Culture to ensure leadership development is integrated into onboarding and career pathing
Serve as an internal champion for leadership, trust, communication, and continuous improvement
Travel regularly (estimate: 20–40%) to offices and jobsites to observe, coach, and deliver training across operating regions

Required

Proven experience designing and delivering leadership development programs
Strong facilitation, coaching, and organizational development skills
Ability to influence leaders at all levels without direct authority
Experience managing multiple programs as an individual contributor
Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building abilities
Ability to travel as needed
Experience working within construction, engineering, or another project-centric industry
Certification in coaching, leadership assessments, or adult learning (e.g., ICF, DiSC, Hogan, Korn Ferry, MBTI, ATD, SHRM)
Experience supporting leadership development for office-based project roles (PMs, estimators, coordinators)
