Responsibilities
Translate designers’ CAD drawings and concepts into precise, three-dimensional garments through expertly drafted two-dimensional patterns
Utilize advanced flat patternmaking, draping, and digital patternmaking techniques to solve complex construction challenges
Partner closely with Design and Product Development to develop construction solutions that support design intent, functionality, and manufacturability
Evaluate base size measurements and determine when custom slopers are required to achieve optimal fit
Anticipate how fabric behavior impacts fit and construction, adjusting patterns accordingly
Lead and participate in fittings, documenting clear and actionable fit notes
Execute all pattern corrections resulting from fittings, design updates, client feedback, or production needs
Develop, maintain, and continuously refine fit standards to ensure consistency across product categories
Build and manage a highly organized Pattern and Sloper library, including all client patterns and internal assets
Maintain clean, accurate cutter’s musts and pattern filing systems
Digitize and verify paper patterns following base size approval
Create and maintain size charts, grade rules, and points of measure within tech packs
Implement size grading using pattern grading software
Oversee sample execution when needed, ensuring first samples are constructed accurately and to spec
Review measurements and construction quality of pre-production samples from both internal sample makers and external factories
Communicate construction methods and pattern intent clearly to internal teams and external manufacturing partners
Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot and resolve production issues as they arise
Qualification
Required
Strong technical understanding of fit, construction, and sizing
Experience working with both knit and woven garments
Exceptional attention to detail and organization
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Strong sewing ability required
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of professional patternmaking experience
Preferred
Experience with Lectra/Gerber, Optitex, TUKAcad and/or CLO 3D strongly preferred
Experience managing CAD Drawings, Tech packs and BOMs preferred
