Floral Manager

Responsibilities
Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service
Assist customers by making product suggestions and engaging in suggestive selling techniques (telephone, intercom, and one‑on‑one interactions)
Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and notify the Store Director as needed
Take special orders from customers in person or by phone
Plan daily operations and monitor production processes in alignment with company procedures and profitability goals
Order balloons, helium tanks, plants, flowers, accessories, and supplies; ensure freshness, quality, and variety
Respond to special‑occasion merchandising needs, sales trends, ads, seasonal promotions, and customer feedback
Upgrade plants, create bows, inflate balloons, and prepare floral bouquets
Produce floral designs in accordance with company standards
Maintain department standards for floral upgrades, balloon upgrades, and candy arrangements
Assist floral designers and sales employees with their tasks
Ensure proper code dating is enforced for all department products
Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks
Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders via invoices, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating merchandise
Follow temperature, storage, packaging, and handling guidelines for all indoor/outdoor plants, shrubs, flowers, and cut floral product
Maintain accurate department records and process administrative paperwork
Control shrink and manage department costs
Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance
Maintain knowledge of all department duties, including opening and closing procedures
Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees
Train employees on store policies, sales techniques, and record‑keeping procedures
Identify employees with high potential for advancement
Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions
Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook
Implement proper product preparation techniques
Safely use and operate equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, stem cutters, choppers, wire, hot glue guns, spray paint, heat‑sealing machines, and helium tanks
Ensure proper pricing and signage
Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas, including code‑date compliance
Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or computer software malfunctions
Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations
