Responsibilities
A typical day in this role will include leading strategic discussions, aligning your team to ensure quality and deadlines are met, while keeping clients informed and engaged. You'll dive into problem-solving, manage budgets, refine proposals, and identify new opportunities – all while motivating your team to turn every challenge into a win
Strategic Impact : Power uprates are rapidly becoming a cornerstone of U.S. energy policy, driven by recently passed legislation aimed at accelerating clean energy deployment. This role places you at the center of that transformation. Power uprates are the quickest and most cost-effective way to bring more nuclear power on-line
Career Springboard: With the U.S. targeting a fourfold increase in nuclear capacity—from ~100 GW today to 400 GW by 2050—power uprates are anticipated to only contribute approximately 8 GW. To meet this ambitious goal, the industry will soon shift focus to designing and constructing new reactors, including advanced and small modular reactor technologies. This role positions you to transition seamlessly into those future projects, giving you a front-row seat to the next generation of nuclear development
Mentorship & Growth : Work alongside senior subject matter experts (SMEs) who will provide hands-on mentorship and help you develop into a future power uprate specialist
Leadership Pathways : This role is designed to groom engineers for leadership—whether you choose to specialize technically, lead teams, or guide future uprate studies and modifications
Collaborative Culture : Join a team that values innovation, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement
Leadership & Coordination : Provide interdisciplinary coordination for design engineering projects and serve as a technical leader to ensure the project solution and quality goals are met. Manage client interactions and negotiate/control project scope to client and company's satisfaction. Foster and maintain working relations with assigned clients and act as a single point of contact for assigned projects
Project Management Excellence : Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to established schedule and within budget. Understand project schedules, project management plans, and manage project staff to ensure project requirements are met. Formulate/develop detailed project reports. Understand project financials and be able to report regularly to management on financial status and overall project performance
Strategic Growth & Innovation : Work with technical staff to develop winning, highly technical engineering proposals. Aggressively support marketing efforts, including identification of new opportunities, proposal preparation, and follow-up
