Product Line Manager
Bourns, Inc. is a leading provider of advanced components for power conversion, circuit protection, and motion control sensing solutions. The Product Line Manager will be responsible for managing the Trimpot® product line, driving sales revenue, and ensuring product competitiveness in target market segments.

Responsibilities
Champions and promotes Trimpot® product line to optimize market share position and sales revenue in partnership and cooperation with sales and market management functions
Develop and execute short- and long-term business plans for the Trimpot® product line
Maintain and update product and technology roadmap and identify opportunities for new product development
Drive customer focused culture through the product line
Establish and execute effective recovery and improvement actions as required
Establish meaningful measurable goals for direct reports and continually review performance, recommend pay increases, disciplinary actions and other personnel changes
Ensure appropriate representation in applicable industry association and standards committees
Establishes goals and improvement strategies for model families and product related processes. Manages projects in conjunction with engineering, manufacturing, and other functions to improve technical performance and cost competitiveness
Plans, directs and implements product related service improvement projects (Digitization/EOL of old records) on a worldwide basis to meet customer and business needs
Establishes and monitors service performance matrices to improve overall plant service levels, enhance efficiencies and minimize product returns from plants
Plans and implements model line modifications, product obsolescence, and product training
Establishes and maintains complete portfolio of competition, including product strategies, product line analysis, testing and competitor product changes. Ensures effective competitive training of the sales organizations and engineering functions
Establishes product support and distribution channel growth programs and is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing communications materials and field training
Evaluates and approves all proposed engineering changes and coordinates customer approvals when required
Manages Trimpot® pricing worldwide to optimize volume, market share and profitability
Provides direction and matrix manages Engineering programs to improve product line competitiveness
Monitors SAP database relating to price minimums, multiples and stock adjustability
Qualification
Required
Normally graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with an Engineering Degree or equivalent education, training or experience
Demonstrated ability to perform the above duties
Must have good time management skills, be able to continually evaluate priorities and make appropriate adjustments
Financial acumen required
Must possess potential to grow into future roles with increasing responsibilities
Personal computer and office software such as MS/Word, MS/Excel, MS/PowerPoint, MS/Project
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrates independence, resourcefulness and ability to self-motivate
Develops and maintains strong relationships with customers, suppliers, internal departments
Interacts efficiently and positively with customers and assumes a leading role towards closure in negotiations
Demonstrates strong results-oriented management skills and assumes leadership
Communicates efficiently, articulates value propositions and effectively marshals direct and indirect resources to achieve their mission
Possesses cultural sensitivity
Is flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment and travel frequently
Excellent communication skills to present information to all levels of employees and customers
Excellent language skills required to communicate instructions and present ideas, concepts, and solutions to all levels of customer organizations as well as within the company
Excellent written skills to issue instructions, present ideas, concepts, and solutions to all levels of personnel via letters, memos, presentations, graphs, charts, documents, etc
Involved in daily, short-term and long-range planning activities and project management
Frequent travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
Preferred material science knowledge
