Marketing and Communications Manager
Friends of Warner Parks is dedicated to enhancing community engagement and conservation efforts. The Marketing & Communications Manager will lead strategic communications, content creation, and digital presence to support fundraising and organizational goals, while also ensuring consistent brand messaging across all platforms.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an annual communications calendar aligned with organizational priorities
Ensure consistent brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across all platforms
Oversee production of digital and print marketing materials for programs, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and events
Support paid promotion strategies as needed
Write and edit content for newsletters, email campaigns, fundraising appeals (in collaboration with Advancement Team), events, and program stories
Create on-brand content for social media, including captions, graphics, short videos, and stories
Conduct interviews with staff, volunteers, and community members to gather compelling stories
Draft talking points and materials for events and leadership communications
Execute social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and others as appropriate)
Schedule and publish posts, stories, reels, and campaigns
Monitor engagement and respond to comments and messages in a timely, mission-appropriate manner
Track metrics and adjust tactics to improve reach and engagement
Manage ongoing content updates for the organization’s website
Ensure event, membership, and donation pages are current and user-friendly
Coordinate with contractors for design, development, SEO, or specialized digital needs
Upload blogs, news, and announcements
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement and Director of Development to support:
Membership recruitment and retention
Donor stewardship communications
Fundraising campaigns and events
Ensure messaging across marketing and fundraising channels is integrated and reinforcing
Work with program staff to support marketing needs for conservation, education, and research initiatives
Partner with the Volunteer & Events Coordinator to promote volunteer opportunities and events
Coordinate with team members on signage, displays, and printed materials
Coordinate designers, photographers, videographers, printers, and other vendors as needed
Manage production timelines and ensure deliverables meet brand standards
Oversee marketing budgets under the guidance of the Senior Director of Advancement
Track and report on marketing performance, including email, website, social media, and campaign metrics
Use data to refine strategies and improve engagement and conversions
Stay current on nonprofit marketing, digital trends, and storytelling best practices
Friends of Warner Parks is an event-driven organization. Employees should expect that some responsibilities will periodically require attendance at events and programs outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, particularly during peak seasons
Work schedules may vary based on organizational needs, and flexibility is expected
Qualification
Required
2–5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or related fields
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills
Experience with social media content creation and execution
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and content management systems (e.g., WordPress)
Strong organizational and project management skills
Preferred
Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
Familiarity with environmental, parks, or conservation work
Basic design skills (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite)
Photography, video, or multimedia experience
