Responsibilities

Serve as the primary onsite electrical engineering contact in Atlanta; collaborate closely with the Chief Electrical Engineer (remote/visiting) and Director of Projects
Ramp up quickly on standards, and apply these consistently to assigned design work packages
Participate in in-person reviews, client meetings, and cross-functional coordination with controls and mechanical teams
Deliver detailed panel and power distribution designs using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical (primary tools); some Revit/BIM work possible
Execute and manage project deliverables, including:
Main Distribution Panel (MDP), Power Distribution Panel (PDP), and subpanel sizing, one-line, and three-line drawing creation
Panel break and feeder scheduling, redline revisions, and finalization of electrical schematic packages
Electrical load calculations (FLC, etc.) and network/control wiring layouts (notably EtherCAT-based, non-traditional for facilities)
Manage and update 800–1,400 unique drawings, maintaining quality and speed; utilize provided templates and build repeatable, modular designs
Function as the first line of technical QA for domestic or offshore CAD drafting support (if applicable)
Collaborate in redlining, revision, and drawing package review cycles directly with and teams to ensure compliance with standards and client expectations
Support BIM modeling and clash detection as needed (wire tray/feeders in 3D)
Identify efficiencies to decrease drawing hours per package
Provide input and lessons learned to refine go-bys (standard packages) and optimize the ramp-up of subsequent phases
Participate in documenting and training additional designers or support staff as the workload scales

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5+ years industry experience in Electrical Engineering, Design, and Leadership
Facility / Industrial Power Distribution Electrical Engineer who can also execute panel design and coordinate with controls
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
Experience in power distribution design
Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to coordinate with a remote technical lead and project manager
Ability to work independently, manage high-volume, detail-oriented work, and deliver on tight deadlines

Preferred

PE license or ability to obtain (preferred but not required)
5+ years experience in industrial/distribution center power systems design, large-scale project environments, or similar
Experience in Revit/BIM for wire tray/routing highly desirable
Familiarity with power distribution for large, automated facilities (1,600A/480V, VFDs, 73+ controllers, modular designs)
Knowledge of EtherCAT and Beckhoff-based controls (strong plus)
Prior experience with large logistics clients viewed as a significant advantage
