Engineering Technician
Washington Headquarters Services is seeking an Engineering Technician to serve as a technical expert on building infrastructure and systems. The role involves leading complex engineering projects, conducting advanced analysis, and developing maintenance programs to ensure system reliability.

Responsibilities
Serve as the lead technical expert on complex engineering projects, providing leadership on technical reviews and stakeholder management
Conduct advanced engineering analysis to develop and implement innovative solutions for exceptionally complex problems
Independently manage unconventional engineering projects by developing new methodologies and proactively mitigating risks to ensure system reliability
Lead advanced analysis and diagnostics of electrical power and control systems to identify and correct deficiencies and ensure system integrity
Develop and implement major maintenance programs and policies by analyzing data, correcting deficiencies, and creating compliant engineering plans

Required
U.S. Citizenship is required
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Required to participate in the direct deposit program

May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime
The employee assigned to this position is designated as a MISSION ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 or equivalent and above): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include technical work in: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems
Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service
Specialized experience for this position includes: (1) Application of technical engineering design related to complex design and construction sufficient to monitor work for compliance with contract requirement; and (2) Review designs for conformance with industry standards; and use contracting processes to provide oversight for civil, structural, and engineering contracts
