Responsibilities
Operate laser beam machine, which produces heat from concentrated light beam, to cut metal components to fulfill orders within quality specifications
Uncoil steel to laser and set up the machine parameters for the gauge and width to meet order specifications
Load files into computer system to program order specifications
Prioritize and cut wideband saw orders while efficiently using material with minimum scrap Align rear mirror of laser cavity, using micrometer screws, according to chart’s specifications
Utilize forklifts and cranes to load and unload steel safely
Dispose of scrap
Make focus and height adjustments of beam for alignment and general maintenance
Balance manufacturing hours & manning to meet customer needs
Maintain and track steel for inventory control
Qualification
