FACILITIES WORK EXPEDITOR

The Town of Cary is committed to maintaining safe and beautiful public spaces, and they are seeking a Facilities Work Expeditor to lead a multi-disciplined team in the maintenance and care of facilities. The role involves planning, scheduling work, and supervising teams to ensure quality and cost-effective services for the community.

Responsibilities

Expedites multiple crews involved in a variety of facilities maintenance and special programs support
Plans and schedules work; creates work orders, sets goals and desired outcomes, monitors progress
Develops and enforces team work rules, polices, and procedures
Manages the work order system and insures accurate work order data collection from all team members
Leads work on weekend shifts as needed
Coordinates with other Cary departments for services and special projects
Supervises crews and checks on completion of work and safety
Conducts training for staff
Designs, sketch drawings, purchases materials and oversees work installing new landscaping
Ensures all Cary, state, and federal work site rules are followed
Oversees inspections of Cary facilities determining needs and corrections
Writes specifications for field construction and follows up with contractors during construction
Inspects facilities
Supervises event support; works with event organizer to insure success
Supervises the Facility Attendant program
Supervises athletic field preparation for league and tournament play
Ensures facility standards are continually met
Assists with analyzing data and prepares required reports
Conducts personnel interviews, performance reviews and counsels employees
Provides feedback or evaluations for contract operations performed within assigned facilities
Identifies budget needs
Identifies and recommends staff training needs
Ensures adequate inventory of supplies and materials
Serves as a conduit of information for team members
Supervises and coordinates staff during hazardous weather emergencies and clean-up operations

Required

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with a degree in business administration, parks and recreation administration, civil engineering or related fields and considerable supervisory and facility maintenance experience
Must possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
Must be at least 18 years old
National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS 100 and ICS 700 training/certification required (provided)

Preferred

Certified Playground Safety Inspector certification is preferred
