The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking candidates for the Treasury 2026 Summer Finance Fellowship. This 10-week program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to gain valuable business skills in finance, accounting, and budgeting while working with the Massachusetts State Retirement Board's Finance Unit.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Support the Finance team through various bookkeeping activities, transactional support, and other cash management duties

Participate in efforts between internal units and external business partners for accounting related inquiries

Assist the Finance team with preparations for the annual reporting cycle by generating reports, reconciling accounts and researching any discrepancies

Required

Candidates must be currently pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in Business Administration or Finance

Must be proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask are required as the incumbent will be forced to prioritize workflow to meet deadline driven projects in a fast-paced environment

Interpersonal skills are required as the incumbent will interact with various Board personnel, at all levels, as well as external partners

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail

As the incumbent is exposed to confidential financial results, the applicant should have a high degree of integrity and professionalism
