Part-Time Hybrid Finance Manager

SHARP Literacy, Inc. is seeking a Finance Manager to serve as a strategic partner to the President and CEO, focusing on the organization’s financial health and growth. The role involves managing all day-to-day financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and audit preparation, while collaborating with senior leadership and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

Manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reconciliations
Perform all balance sheet reconciliations (bank accounts, investment income, prepaids, deposits, accruals, depreciation, expense reports, credit cards, etc.)
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements; compile reporting materials for leadership and the Board; oversee all financial projects and programs, and grant accounting
Develop, manage, and implement general ledger and fund accounting systems and procedures, and other expenses to programs and functional areas through monthly cost allocation
Manage and track deferred revenue, restricted and designated funds, in-kind donations of goods/services and release those as instructed by the donor or President & CEO
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
Monitor cash flow and forecasting on a monthly basis
Oversee and manage the annual budgeting and planning process in collaboration with the President & CEO; review all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress, and keep senior leadership informed
Track and manage deferred revenue, restricted and designated funds, and in-kind donations; release funds as instructed by donors or the President & CEO
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process; liaise with external auditors and the Finance Committee; ensure completion and accuracy prior to timely filing of IRS Form 990

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field, experience in not-for-profit finance or accounting
Robust analytical skills for data evaluation across multiple financial software programs to produce high quality reporting, and audit coordination
Strong analytical skills and experience working across multiple financial software platforms; proven ability to ensure accuracy and quality of financial data, reporting, and audit coordination
Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, understandable terms; strong presentation skills for Board and leadership audiences
High level of integrity, credibility, and commitment to SHARP's mission
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, QuickBooks, Adobe, and Excel
