Senior Production Analyst, Onboarding
Spatial Front, Inc is a company that focuses on mission-critical applications. They are seeking a Senior Production Analyst to provide Tier 2 Operations and Maintenance support for complex systems that support weather, satellite, and scientific data operations.

Responsibilities
Provide Tier 2 O&M support for all applications, including retrieving, ingesting, processing, disseminating, archiving, verifying, optimizing, monitoring, troubleshooting, timing, and reporting across all core system components
Maintain, monitor, and support complex, mission-critical software systems in an operational 24x7 enterprise environment
Install application software in QA environments, following approved test plans, procedures, and checklists, and verify expected results per the upgrade scope
Develop System Integration Test (SIT) plans, execute testing, and document results
Write detailed implementation and deployment instructions, test changes to impacted and downstream applications, and deploy software to production environments in accordance with NCO procedures
Perform in-depth troubleshooting of applications running in clustered and distributed environments
Develop and maintain Linux automation scripts (Bash, Python, Perl) to support monitoring, deployment, and operational workflows
Maintain and enhance large, complex systems by analyzing program logic, improving efficiency, and producing technical documentation
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure reliable data flow within the NCEP Central Operations IDP environment
Implement new systems and system upgrades in testing and production environments
Participate in rotational, off-hours on-call support as part of a team-based schedule
Interface with system stakeholders to address operational configuration, system performance, and application support questions
Support the migration of on-premises applications to cloud environments and assist with modernization initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science and 4+ years of relevant experience
Intermediate knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
Experience with Linux/Unix scripting, including Shell, Perl, and/or Python
Working knowledge of procedural programming languages such as FORTRAN, C/C++, and Python
Experience supporting weather or satellite operations
Willingness to perform rotational 24x7 on-call support
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently on complex technical tasks
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Certifications Required (one of the following): AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences and 6+ years of experience
Expert-level knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
Experience with scientific data dissemination and observation systems, particularly in NOAA, NASA, or DoD environments
Familiarity with numerical modeling principles
Experience supporting 24x7 mission-critical systems
Experience with change management tools such as Git, Subversion, Bugzilla, and Redmine
Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Xymon, Big Brother)
Familiarity with GIS tools such as ArcGIS
Exposure to DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
