Scientist, Assistant or Associate Professor
The University of Utah is seeking a basic science or early translational lab-based investigator at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Huntsman Cancer Institute. The role involves conducting research in areas such as stem cell biology and tissue regeneration, with a focus on cancer therapies, while collaborating with clinician investigators and facilitating interdisciplinary projects.

Conduct research in stem cell biology, tissue regeneration, and the tumor microenvironment
Modulate the response to and recovery from cancer therapies, including radiation and immunotherapies
Demonstrate a strong commitment to national and international collaborative research
Initiate and facilitate interdisciplinary projects within HCI and the University of Utah
Qualification
Required
PhD (or equivalent)
Minimum 2-3 years of appropriate postdoctoral training
Demonstrated track record of research impact and productivity
Proven record of independent funding (for Associate Professor level)
Lead an innovative research program (for Associate Professor level)
Willingness to incorporate research involving ionizing radiation or other cancer therapies into future investigations
Strong commitment to national and international collaborative research
Ability to initiate and facilitate interdisciplinary projects within HCI and the University of Utah
Preferred
Research with translational potential, such as utilizing specimens obtained from human patients
Conducting studies using preclinical models with a clear path to eventual clinical testing
