Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of inspection equipment programmers supporting machine shop operations
Partner with Manufacturing Quality Leadership, including the Inspection Manager and PQE Manager, to drive strategic initiatives
Set and execute tactical plans aligned to operational goals for SQDC
Standardize inspection programming techniques and tools to reduce programming time and improve efficiency
Optimize inspection processes, equipment utilization, and work-holding techniques
Champion and enforce compliance with internal Systems, Procedures, and Regulatory Guidelines
Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate necessary support services and resolve barriers to production or quality
Identify future inspection capacity issues and proactively develop mitigation plans
Provide timely communication and reporting to internal stakeholders
Support product transitions, process changes, and continuous improvement projects on the shop floor
Foster a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
Minimum 5 years of management experience, including direct team leadership and cross-functional collaboration
Demonstrated success in leading high-performing technical teams
Demonstrated success in driving operational change and process improvements
Demonstrated success in implementing Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced knowledge of CMMs and Automated Inspection Equipment
Experience with CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
Automated Inspection Equipment Programming Experience
Standardization of Inspection Programming & Tools
Process Optimization / Lean Manufacturing Implementation
Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration Experience
Compliance with Systems, Procedures, and Regulatory Requirements
Communication Skills (Written & Verbal)
Continuous Improvement (CI) / Process Engineering Mindset
Team Size Managed (Direct Reports)
Experience with Inspection Workholding Techniques
Eligible to Work with U.S. Export-Controlled Information
Preferred
Experience in the aerospace, aviation, or defense manufacturing industry
Prior involvement in product transition or new product introduction (NPI) projects
Familiarity with regulatory and quality systems in a controlled manufacturing environment
Experience with Zeiss CMM
