Observability Practice Lead
cloudEQ is seeking an Observability Practice Lead to build, scale, and lead their Observability practice as a high-growth business line. This role involves owning full P&L responsibility and leading strategy, sales alignment, delivery execution, and capability development for the Observability business.

Responsibilities
Own end-to-end financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, utilization, and recurring revenue targets
Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy to expand predictable recurring revenue and overall topline growth
Translate strategy into execution through monthly operating reviews and KPI-driven dashboards
Partner with Sales and Marketing to define and execute GTM plays around key observability differentiators
Coordinate with cloudEQ’s sales organization and partner ecosystems (e.g., New Relic) to drive net-new and expansion opportunities
Oversee pre-sales solutioning, ensuring quality, consistency, and accuracy in proposals, estimates, and client presentations
Lead onshore and offshore delivery teams to ensure high-quality, value-driven client outcomes
Establish scalable delivery frameworks emphasizing automation, reusability, and practitioner-led expertise ("Observability-as-Code")
Maintain strong delivery governance, including CSAT, delivery KPIs, utilization, and quality controls
Evolve the observability services portfolio to include managed services and recurring offerings
Drive IP creation, automation, and reusable frameworks across engagements
Define and execute talent strategy, including hiring, cross-training, certifications, and scalable onshore/offshore models
Collaborate closely with Architecture, Customer Success, and PMO teams to deliver integrated client solutions
Lead with a focus on business outcomes, accountability, and continuous improvement
Establish operating rhythms including scorecards, quarterly planning, and KPI-based accountability
Represent the Observability practice at the executive level and across cross-practice initiatives
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in Cloud, Enterprise Systems, Observability, or professional services organizations
5+ years leading P&L or delivery organizations with gross margin responsibility
Proven success building and scaling consulting or managed services offerings
Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret P&L, pipeline, and utilization data
Experience leading distributed, cross-functional, and global teams
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities in fast-paced environments
Entrepreneurial, metrics-driven, and results-oriented mindset
Collaborative leadership style across sales, delivery, architecture, and clients
Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom/WebEx)
Bachelor's degree required (BA/BS or equivalent)
Master's degree preferred
Equivalent professional experience considered in lieu of formal education
Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving minor defects

Team-oriented with a strong drive to deliver results and continuously improve
Preferred
Familiarity with observability platforms such as New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, and enterprise observability maturity models
Understanding of how AI/ML enhances observability (AIOps, anomaly detection, predictive alerting)
Background in mid-tier consultancies, systems integrators, or boutique MSPs
Demonstrated ability to convert project-based work into recurring managed services
Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Proficient computer and software skills
Considerable knowledge of computer operations and applications
Demonstration of planning, coordination, communication, and support to the organization
