Sr. Manager, Data & Analytics

Responsibilities
Manage and mentor BI team members, setting clear expectations, providing coaching, conducting performance reviews, and building a high-performing, business-focused analytics team
Work closely with the VP of Technology & Data Strategy to execute the BI and Analytics roadmap, including defining priorities, sequencing initiatives, creating staffing model, and building long-term analytics capabilities that align with organizational goals
Ensure that analytics outputs are meaningful and contextually relevant for both operational teams and executive leadership
Lead the BI function by establishing standards and processes for intake, prioritization, delivery, QA, and ongoing support of analytics solutions
Serve as a business partner for analytics, ensuring insights are actionable, accurate, and trusted by leadership
Own enterprise reporting and metrics governance, including standard definitions, data quality controls, validation processes, and change management to ensure consistency across all analytics outputs
Oversee the design and evolution of BI architecture, including data models, semantic layers, and reporting platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with enterprise data strategy
Provide technical leadership and guidance across SQL Server, ETL processes, and data integration
Establish and enforce quality assurance practices, including peer reviews, validation checkpoints, and executive-level certification of reports and dashboards
Lead issue triage and resolution for complex analytics and data quality issues, balancing urgency, impact, and root-cause remediation while communicating clearly with stakeholders
Drive adoption and enablement of BI solutions, including executive dashboards, self-service analytics, documentation, and data literacy efforts across the organization
Support enterprise initiatives and system changes (e.g., ERP, CRM, operational platforms) by assessing downstream reporting impacts and ensuring continuity and accuracy of analytics
Continuously identify opportunities to improve analytics processes, tools, and governance to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen confidence in organizational data
Perform other duties as assigned
Lead a team of four direct reports, including hiring, training, coaching and developing team members
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, or related field
Ability to provide consultative analytics guidance that informs strategic decision-making
Strong understanding of business processes, KPIs, and performance measurement
Demonstrated ability to translate business questions into actionable analytical solutions
Strong understanding of data warehousing
Hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft BI Stack, including Power BI and SQL Server
Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated, organized and capable of setting team priorities and meeting deadlines
Experience designing and enforcing BI quality assurance (QA) and validation processes
6 years leading BI teams, establishing analytics standards, reporting frameworks and data quality practices
Experience with BI operating models (intake, prioritization, SLAs, QA, release management) and implementing and operating within a data governance framework
Experience with AI-assisted analytics, including predictive and prescriptive machine learning (ML)
Lead a team of four direct reports, including hiring, training, coaching and developing team members
The person in this position needs to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors, such as customer complaints, compliance offenses and competing priorities of reasonable or high significance to the successful function of the unit
Must be able to effectively interpret data and make critical decisions that will have a significant impact on the team and organization
Preferred
Experience in food industry consumer-packaged goods or retail food distribution is a plus
