Field Service Engineer

Pfeiffer Vacuum has been a leader in the vacuum industry since 1890, and they are seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of CMS equipment at customer sites. The role involves using various tools for installation and maintenance, ensuring equipment is in optimal condition, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Uses a wide range of hand and power tools, measuring devices, and meters, to install, test, troubleshoot, and repair CMS equipment
Responsible for performing basic on-site PMs and responding to alarms, as needed
Qualifying and verifying the equipment is back in the same or better condition as before maintenance
Exercise and utilize 5S principles
Follow standard operating procedures and accurately fill out required check sheets
Prepare reports on customer support issues and escalate to local FAE or Product Engineering/Applications team
Provide daily passdown information and updates to customers as necessary
Successfully complete proactive daily walkthrough inspections
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with input from FAE and customer
Work safely and always be willing to stop and ask, as needed
Ability to work and be successful in stressful working conditions
Develop and discuss with customer a POA (Plan of Action) for each repair or PM
Responsible for installation, upgrade, troubleshooting and repair of all a models of complex contamination management systems at the customer site

Required

Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics
At least five years of experience in the semiconductor or biomedical engineering industry
Knowledge of vacuum technology
An understanding of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience using hand tools
Basic Math skills
The ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
Valid Driver's License
Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills
Good planning and technical equipment troubleshooting skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic group environment
Ability to travel for training, as required
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain clear and cooperative working relationships with co-workers
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Ability to work and be successful in stressful working conditions
Ability to manipulate small and large tools to test, repair perform PM's on CMS equipment
Ability to lift tools and equipment weighing up to sixty pounds
Ability to stand most of the day and to maneuver equipment into the correct spot at the customer's facility
Ability to understand the customers' requirements and plan the support strategy
Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems

Preferred

Master's Degree
Experience in Airborne Molecular Contamination (AMC) tools installation or maintenance, or OEM equipment support in semiconductor manufacturing
Knowledge of programming and computer networking
