Responsibilities
Design, install, and maintain security systems including CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems
Conduct regular inspections and testing of security equipment to ensure functionality
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computer networking, sensors, and low voltage systems
Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs and provide tailored solutions
Utilize hand tools and power tools for installation and repair tasks
Provide field service support for security system installations and maintenance
Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and service records
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in security systems
Assist in the training of junior technicians on system design and installation techniques
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in security system installation and maintenance
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and telecommunication systems
Mechanical knowledge with experience in cabling, electrical work, and construction practices
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings related to security systems
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
Strong troubleshooting skills in and resolving technical issues effectively
Knowledge of Alarm Systems installation and maintenance
Understanding of Occupational Health and safety best practices for on-site operations
Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and meet stringent deadlines
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Preferred
Familiarity with fire alarm systems, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), surveillance technologies, and locksmithing
Experience with remote access software for monitoring security systems
Prior experience in IT security or a related field is highly desirable
Relevant certifications such as CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are a plus
