Real Estate Technician
Dakota County is Minnesota’s third largest county and home to more than 400,000 residents. The Real Estate Technician supports the County Real Estate Office responsible for acquiring real estate interests for conservation, facilities, greenways, parks, and transportation.

Responsibilities
Prepares/drafts and coordinates the execution of forms, agreements, and other required real estate acquisition documents, including purchase, settlement, right of entry, mortgage consents; offer packets; easement deeds; leases; tenant waivers; closing documents; and funding restrictions with direction from the Real Estate Manager, Real Estate Supervisor and Assistant County Attorneys
Provides information and assists in maintaining/updating the County's Real Estate Office files and databases, including conversion of decentralized paper documents to a centralized electronic system accessible to other County departments. Data entry and data management within the CityVerse database for all projects
Performs property research and records look-ups at the behest of unit leadership and assists the Title Specialist with large scale projects and parcel examination
Performs necessary administrative tasks, including but not limited to meeting regularly with Real Estate Specialists, Real Estate Supervisor, and Real Estate Manager; developing and implementing annual Individual work and development plans; completing required training; and completing timesheets, expense reports, performance reviews, etc.by required dates and times
Performs other acquisition and program-related activities in consultation with or as assigned by the Real Estate Manager, Real Estate Supervisor or Assistant County Attorney
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree AND one (1) year of experience preparing and/or processing real estate or legal documents
A combination of education and experience to equal or exceed three (3) years directly related to preparing and/or processing real estate or legal documents
Valid driver's license
Working knowledge of real estate-related documents
Working knowledge of general contract processes
Working knowledge of real estate closing processes and document recording
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Skills in efficiently organizing time to complete assigned responsibilities
Skills in utilizing and applying technology for increased efficiency, including use of Microsoft Office and Excel
Skills in accurately completing detailed documents
Skills in proofreading and redlining documents
Ability to adapt and be flexible to meet deadlines
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to abide by federal, state and county confidentiality requirements
Ability to maintain complex records and prepare detailed documents and reports
Ability to employ sound judgment in exercising discretion, including determination at the appropriate points in which to involve management staff in decision-making
