The Senior / Staff AI Engineer will design, build, and evolve multi-agent systems that serve as a platform, focusing on orchestration layers, agent routing, and infrastructure to power intelligent behaviors across the product.

Responsibilities
Architect and build agentic platform infrastructure that supports multi-agent orchestration, routing, memory, and tool execution
Design and productionize complex, non-linear agent workflows, using frameworks like LangGraph or custom orchestration layers
Own the lifecycle of agent systems from design to deployment to iteration based on user feedback
Build and evolve retrieval systems including embeddings, vector search, reranking, and context assembly
Integrate and route across multiple LLM providers with cost, latency, and reliability considerations
Develop observability and evaluation frameworks for agent performance, correctness, and efficiency
Partner closely with product and frontend teams to embed AI deeply into user workflows
Operate with a high degree of ownership, autonomy, and accountability
Qualification
Required
Strong backend and platform engineer who builds AI systems, not demos
Proven experience shipping multi-agent or complex LLM-driven systems into production. (Not just chatbots!)
Experience designing orchestration layers, agent routing, or system-level AI workflows
Deep familiarity with Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar backend languages
Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and production reliability
Hands-on experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and evaluation pipelines
Comfort operating at Senior or Staff-level scope with minimal direction
Builder mindset: you like owning hard problems and pushing systems into the real world
Preferred
Experience building agentic systems at scale inside a SaaS product with real users
Prior work on AI platforms or shared infrastructure, not just feature teams
Familiarity with evaluation strategies for agent correctness, hallucination detection, or long-running workflows
Experience designing systems that balance cost, latency, and quality across multiple model providers
Exposure to developer-facing AI platforms, internal tooling, or SDKs
Background in fast-growing startups or environments where systems evolved rapidly under real usage
Comfort operating at Staff-level scope, even if your title was Senior
