Soundboard is a fast growing start-up based in Boston, MA that supports self-employed professionals with tax and accounting services. The Onboarding Accountant will manage a portfolio of clients, onboarding new clients, completing initial clean-up projects, and overseeing their monthly bookkeeping while providing exceptional client service and support.

Responsibilities

Deliver clean, consistent, and accurate books and develop key insights and financial reports (P&L / Balance Sheet) for single-owner, services-based clients
Manage onboarding of new clients through platform set up (QuickBooks, Gusto)
Frequently communicate in writing with clients to provide exceptional client service
Proactively identify and problem solve client issues
Meet with clients to overcome bookkeeping questions and challenges via Zoom ( Expect 4+ hours per day with clients )
Act as a trusted advisor to clients as it relates to accounting best practices and operating their business
Breakdown complex technical accounting topics and explain in layman terms

Qualification

Required

2-10 years of experience in small/services-based business accounting (Sole-proprietorships, Single Member LLCs, or Single-Owner S-Corporations)
Deep hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks / Gusto Payroll or similar
Prior experience working in a client facing role
Basic understanding of small business tax and related bookkeeping requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar or equivalent practical experience
Must be located in the United States

Preferred

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) license is a plus, but not required
