Sammons Financial Group Companies is seeking an Accounting Intern for the Summer of 2026. The role involves providing collaborative support for various projects within the Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Capital Planning & Analysis, and Investment Accounting areas.

Responsibilities

Provide support to the team by assisting with projects and duties to advance the department goals

Complete special accounting and analysis projects as needed using multiple financial systems and applications (i.e. SAP, Prophix, Workiva)

Assist with preparation of internal and external reports

Maintain effective, positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external parties

Assist with maintaining and improving existing internal controls

Required

Individuals pursuing their bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or similar field

High level of accounting ability, including a good working knowledge of finance, economics, investments, insurance and statistics

Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work on a team independently

Criminal background check required

Regular attendance is required and expected in order to meet the business service levels and workflow demands

Preferred

A basic understanding of insurance

Bloomberg Terminal experience is a plus
