This individual will provide expert-level support to operations, perform protection system analysis, and contribute to the continuous improvement of system reliability.

Responsibilities
Provide relay protection support to operations and analyze protection systems, including tele-protection channels
Conduct short circuit calculations and relay coordination studies
Develop technical documentation and descriptive guides for operating personnel
Create corrective action plans after system events and malfunctions
Be available periodically (on-call) to consult with field teams during emergencies or issues involving relay protection systems
Keep leadership informed of actual/anticipated issues related to assignments
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering + 8 years of relay protection system experience (distribution or transmission level), OR
Master's in Electrical Engineering + 6 years of relevant experience
Strong technical competence, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple assignments with shifting priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred
Relay protection experience (e.g., setting relays, logic development, fault studies)
Familiarity with power system fault analysis tools or manual calculation
Knowledge of NERC PRC standards (PRC-002, PRC-004, PRC-006, etc.)
