Senior Financial Analyst
New Classrooms is a national non-profit organization focused on reimagining math education for all students. The Senior Financial Analyst will contribute to the evolution of the business model by forecasting and planning, managing financial operations, and collaborating with various teams to ensure financial goals are met.
Responsibilities
Build, enhance and maintain financial models, forecasts and financial reports
Create and maintain financial reports in various systems to ensure quick and accurate data reporting and analysis
Analyze and interpret financial data to advise and support strategic decision-making and achieve business objectives
Utilize financial modeling and analytical tools to recommend, measure and forecast the impact of various business decisions and scenarios
Track, investigate and resolve variances between financial projections and actual results
Present findings and/or recommendations in a meaningful format to support strategic decision-making
Work with the CEO and VP of Development to determine short- and long-term fundraising needs
Collaborate with sales team to perform activity-based and other costing analyses to determine the cost of products and services offered, and develop / evaluate pricing strategies
Interface with fundraising, business development, and sales teams to manage revenue targets and track progress against goals
Track trends and provide meaningful insights through various performance metrics
Create institutional grant budgets and manage organizational expenditures against budgets
Work in concert with accounting colleagues to ensure consistency of data collection, tagging and reporting
Evaluate current and historical financial data and analyze financial viability of new program opportunities and operating models
Provide financial information for the Board of Directors and for grant proposals as required
Identify and recommend programs to assist the organization with their financial needs / relief, e.g. PPP loan, federal funding etc
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance or related field
4 - 7 years of progressive work experience in FP&A role, corporate finance, or investment banking, etc
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfort working in a highly collaborative and fast paced work environment
Ability to work easily with people at all levels of the organization
Team player with a willingness and eagerness to help
Self-starter able to work independently
Ability to handle highly sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality
Proficiency with database applications like Excel vba, data analysis tools
