They are seeking an elite Senior Azure Cloud Data Engineer for a long-term consulting engagement with the Port Authority of NY & NJ, responsible for architecting and developing enterprise-scale data warehouse and analytical systems on the Azure platform.

Responsibilities
Architect, design, and develop enterprise-scale data warehouse and analytical systems using the full suite of Azure data technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Lake
Lead the full project lifecycle for new development, from understanding and documenting business requirements to creating project plans, developing, testing, and deploying solutions via established change/release management processes
Design and build robust data pipelines for both API and streaming ingestion methods, and develop secure, scalable NoSQL solutions using Azure Cosmos DB
Provide comprehensive systems support, including maintenance, enhancements, user ticket resolution, and on-call availability to ensure the stability and integrity of the data platforms
Develop meticulous documentation, create user guides, and provide training to end-users to drive the adoption and effective use of new functionalities and platforms
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 12 years of professional experience architecting, designing, and developing enterprise-scale data warehouse systems with a focus on SQL Server-based solutions (Cloud and on-premise)
Expert-level understanding and hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, and Azure App Service
Proven experience building end-to-end data warehouse and analytical systems using the SQL Server family of products (e.g., Analysis Services, Power BI)
Demonstrated experience in developing data platforms using Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and Azure Pipelines
Strong experience in designing and building data pipelines, knowledge of DevOps (CI/CD) processes, and experience developing NoSQL solutions with Azure Cosmos DB
Thorough understanding of both Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure offerings and deep expertise in common data warehouse modeling principles (Kimball, Inmon)
Preferred
Professional certifications in Azure or related data technologies
Knowledge of Azure Databricks, Azure IoT, Azure HDInsight + Spark, and Azure Stream Analytics
Familiarity with the classic Microsoft BI Stack (SSRS, SSAS with DAX/MDX, SSIS)
Scripting and programming knowledge in PowerShell, C#, and/or Python
