Media Planner
Stark Raving Health is a Boston-based branding and digital healthcare and life sciences marketing agency. They are seeking a detail-oriented Media Planner to develop, execute, and optimize media plans that support client objectives and deliver strong results, while collaborating with internal teams and presenting recommendations to clients.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with account teams to understand client objectives and compliance requirements and develop aligned media strategies
Research and analyze target audiences, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes
Recommend appropriate, compliant media channels and platforms to reach defined audiences
Develop detailed media plans outlining budgets, timelines, and performance metrics (KPIs)
Execute accurate platform setups across advertising channels, including Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), X, programmatic platforms, and Out-of-Home (OOH). (An understanding of healthcare advertising guidelines is a plus.)
Plan and buy media across:
Digital: Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), X, programmatic
Traditional: TV, radio, print
Out-of-Home (OOH)
Monitor and optimize campaigns in-flight to improve performance while maintaining compliance
Track pacing, performance, and spend to ensure budget accuracy
Analyze results and apply insights to future planning and optimization
Manage media budgets and track spending against approved plans
Coordinate with media vendors to negotiate placements, pricing, and added value
Maintain strong, professional relationships with media partners
Work closely with project management, account, and creative teams to ensure campaigns align with strategy, messaging, and compliance standards
Present media plans, recommendations, and performance results clearly and professionally
Explain media strategies, tactics, and optimizations in a compliant, client-appropriate manner
Provide regular status updates and respond to client questions
Translate performance data into actionable insights that support informed decision-making
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in media strategy, planning, and buying
Experience managing live media campaigns and budgets; prior work in healthcare is helpful, but not required
Hands-on setup, negotiation, and management of Google Ads
Hands-on setup, negotiation, and management of Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
Hands-on setup, negotiation, and management of X (Twitter)
Hands-on setup, negotiation, and management of programmatic platforms
Hands-on setup, negotiation, and management of Traditional (TV, radio, print)
Hands-on setup, negotiation, and management of OOH (out-of-home)
Google Analytics experience (campaign tracking and setup a plus)
Proficiency with media planning, buying, and reporting tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
Confident, client-facing presentation skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines in a regulated environment
Preferred
Familiarity with healthcare advertising guidelines and platform policies is a plus
