Human Resources Generalist

Responsibilities

The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and the development of HR within the company

Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
Assists to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals
Understanding and supporting the workforce with company policies and procedures
Assists with the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans (PDPs) and employee development programs
Assists with the establishment of an in-house employee training system that addresses the company's training needs, including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfer
Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports
Maintains employee training records
Focal coaching and development for supervisor level and above
Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws
Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
Advises managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. Counsels managers on employment issues
Assists with the monitoring of the company's wage and salary structure, including bonuses and raises
Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff
Provides payroll processing backup support. Partners with accounting and payroll to maintain the payroll database
Participates in one salary survey per year
Company-wide committee facilitation
Company employee communication
HRIS data entry for new hires/changes/terminations and reorgs
Assist with document management and filing, both electronic and hardcopy
Maintenance of personnel records and status changes
Creating/maintaining all reports required for audit purposes
Workforce planning
Tracking of vacation, sick time, and holidays taken
Manage/assist with employee requests
Monitor and respond to shared inboxes
Employee event planning, coordination, and execution as required
Assisting with the preparation and distribution of bi-weekly payroll as required
Assist in the termination process of employees as required
Other duties as required
Performs other related duties as assigned
Assist with the creation and execution of training and talent development
Employee file conversion
Vacation liability investigation
Titling and salary review
Others as required

Qualification

Required

A completed Bachelor's Degree or Diploma from an accredited university or college
CPHR is considered an asset
Proven academic and work achievement
Administration experience is preferred
2+ years HR Generalist work experience
