Responsibilities
Meet with customers to determine their electrical service needs
Prepare or assist in preparation of field layouts of routine jobs; such as staking, sketching, inventories, estimates, work request preparation and materials utilizing company work management and graphical design tools
Make, or assist in making, routine technical surveys or analyses; such as load balance or voltage drop calculations
Inspect work for conformance to drawings and specifications
Acquire or assist in the acquisition of distribution easements
Perform surveying and general transit work
Settle damage claims pertaining to construction and rebuilding of lines
Prepare engineering drawings from work prints and field notes
Perform and assist technical employees with routine engineering duties in office
Assist, as necessary, in storm restoration
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in technical discipline such as electrical engineering or design drafting, or a High School Diploma and a minimum of two years working in a utility industry, technical industry or engineering industry
Preferred
Knowledge of electric delivery system, construction standards, materials and equipment, basic math, algebra and trigonometry functions
Above average interpersonal relations, communication, organizing and analytical skills and fully competent computer knowledge
