Warehouse Operations Supervisor

They are seeking a Warehouse Operations Supervisor responsible for overseeing inventory management, shipping and receiving, and ensuring compliance with established procedures while maintaining safety protocols.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include all aspects of:
Company-owned inventory management
Shipping and Receiving
Warehouse equipment maintenance
Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping; and related problems
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring of inventory accuracy
Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures
Schedule cycle counting; research and correct discrepancy report
Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial action to resolve discrepancies
Assist in documenting work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow
Inspect all high dollar customer returns
Assist in the resolution of external morgue items (items which are received at our facility with absolutely no paperwork and no references for disposition)
Issue written and oral instructions
Work with Operations department and Sales departments to resolve any nonconformance
Assign duties and examine work for correctness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures
Work closely with the Sales Department to understand customer requirements, resolve customer issues, and plan for future work
Conduct safety meetings and safety inspections and assist in correcting all deficiencies noted in the inspection reports
Implement safety policies consistent with Company’s general policies
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Provide training to warehouse employees and other departments as required
Participate in Staff communication meetings as required
Train and mentor employees, including reinforcement of safety guidelines
Report accidents and injuries and ensure proper treatment protocols are met
Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed
Collaborate with other departments to close operational gaps
Balance safety, cost management and business growth then prepare and submit reports
Optimize warehouse functions
Handle communications and negotiations with suppliers
Qualification
Required
Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution or Industrial Supervision highly desired
General Understanding of the principles in warehouse operations and supply chain management
Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse operations
Proficiency with MSOffice
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong employee management skills including providing regular performance feedback; developing subordinates' skills; encouraging growth; being available to staff; confidence in making decisions
Strong customer service skills including the ability to develop rapport and trust with other employees and customers
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Preferred
Bachelors preferred
Thorough understanding of products to include valves, actuators, and related instrumentation highly preferred
Enterprise Planning experience such as Oracle or SAP is preferred
