Sr. Mechanical Engineer with Mission Critical Experience
Karbon Engineering Services is seeking a motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their design team in Edison, NJ. The role involves leading the mechanical engineering team in the design and evaluation of mechanical systems, coordinating with other disciplines, and preparing documentation and calculations for design validation.
Responsibilities
Coordinating the design and the development of mechanical systems and documentation for central cooling plants, fuel systems and Air Distribution Systems
Working with other disciplines and the design team to develop a fully coordinate design
Mentoring junior mechanical staff
Acting as Project Manager
Managing project budgets
Acting as point of contact with the client and other parties involved. Attend project meetings to ensure schedule and deliverables are met
Supervising junior staff during on-site surveys to collect pre-existing conditions information
Qualification
Required
6-10 years of experience working as an engineer
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
Experience working on the newest version of AutoCAD and MS Office Products
Knowledge of Chiller Plants, Cooling Towers, High Density Cooling and BMS systems
Ability to work on multiple projects at once, manage their workload, communicate with team members
Previous experience with Mission Critical Cooling Systems & Mechanical design
Working knowledge of infrastructure components i.e.: central cooling plants, fuel systems, Air Distribution Systems and all other mechanical equipment supporting the data center
Ability to travel to project sites
Must be a US Citizen or have ability to obtain US Work Visa
Preferred
Experience working with Revit is a plus
Experience performing CFD analysis is a plus
Knowledge of construction processes & Mission Critical industry
