Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of highly available and scalable storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) supporting enterprise workloads
Define storage architecture standards, policies, and best practices in alignment with business continuity and disaster recovery objectives
Manage, monitor, and optimize enterprise storage systems across multiple data centers and cloud environments
Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex storage performance or availability issues
Maintain accurate configuration, capacity, and performance data to ensure proactive management of storage infrastructure
Oversee implementation of backup, replication, and recovery strategies using enterprise tools
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing, ensuring data resiliency and compliance with RPO/RTO targets
Automate provisioning, reporting, and maintenance tasks through scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Ansible)
Analyze performance metrics and utilization trends to optimize storage capacity, improve performance, and reduce operational costs
Partner with virtualization, network, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of storage services
Mentor junior storage and operations engineers, providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer
Participate in capacity planning, budgeting, and vendor management activities
Implement data encryption, access controls, and audit practices to maintain security and regulatory compliance
Ensure adherence to ITIL-based change, incident, and problem management processes

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering or infrastructure management within large-scale data center environments
Proven experience leading or contributing to major storage infrastructure projects and migrations
Expert-level knowledge of enterprise storage technologies such as Dell EMC (PowerMax, Unity, Isilon), NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage, or HPE 3PAR/Nimble
Deep understanding of SAN (Brocade/Cisco FC), NAS, and object storage architectures
Experience with cloud storage integration (AWS S3, Azure Blob, or GCP Storage)
Strong background in data protection, replication, and disaster recovery technologies
Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
Experience managing storage for virtualized environments (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V)
Familiarity with monitoring and performance tools (SolarWinds, Grafana, Dell Unisphere, NetApp Active IQ, etc.)
Knowledge of ITIL processes, capacity planning, and infrastructure lifecycle management
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle critical incidents under pressure
Strong communication and documentation abilities, including the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences
Leadership and mentoring experience within technical teams
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail

Preferred

Dell EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), or equivalent vendor certifications
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar virtualization certification
ITIL Foundation or higher-level certification
Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
