ByzFunder is a specialized financing platform focused on supporting the growth of small and mid-sized businesses. They are seeking a Finance Associate/Senior Associate to manage financial reporting functions, assist in financial planning and analysis, and support capital markets activities.

Responsibilities

Prepare financial reports for management, lenders, and external stakeholders

Support warehouse lender & securitization reporting requirements, including borrowing base calculations and compliance reporting

Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support long term strategic planning with performance and origination variance functionality

Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to leadership

Support cross-functional teams with financial data and decision-making tools

Assist in monthly close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis

Provide support for external audits by preparing the necessary schedules and documentation

Support monthly data room maintenance and client requests

Assist senior team members in the evaluation, preparedness & due diligence of financing facilities & securitizations

Participate in investor and lender discussions ensuring timely follow-up and ongoing relationship needs

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles and capital markets

2–4 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or FP&A within Financial Services

Strong Excel and financial modeling skills including SQL, Pivot tables, V-lookup, H-lookup, MACROs and advanced formulas

Familiarity with financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis within a lending business

Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving

Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Ability to understand, operationalize, and provide ongoing support for structured finance programs, including securitizations and warehouse facilities

Familiarity with the lending business and/or specialty finance preferably from the fintech, MCA, SME or consumer funding ecosystem
