Responsibilities

Many spectra are insufficiently utilized. This role will assist the team in studying the spectral usage activities based on field measurement data. Especially working on integrating spectrum sensing capability into the future dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) system
Based on existing CableLabs smart spectrum usage prediction algorithms, investigate, continue the research to improve prediction accuracy
Assess different levels of spectrum usage prediction requirements (e.g., non-real-time, near real-time, or real-time), define the corresponding requirements for spectrum sensing (e.g., resolution bandwidth, sweep time, number of locations, etc.)
Define algorithms to coordinate spectrum usage data from multiple locations to locate the active transmitter(s)
Investigate and develop different spectrum sensing platforms including software-defined radio (SDR), Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) for spectrum sensing, and rotating directional antennas
Document and write the necessary papers or technical reports to capture research outputs
