They are seeking a senior Lead Architect to establish a foundational Google Cloud architecture that supports enterprise-scale data and AI capabilities for their energy/utility client.

Responsibilities
Design and implement the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) foundational architecture, with a primary focus on BigQuery
Define reference architectures, data patterns, and best practices for scalable, secure, and governed data platforms
Establish ingestion, transformation, and analytics patterns aligned to enterprise data needs
Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and enterprise IT standards
Architect and support agentic and generative AI capabilities using Vertex AI
Define integration patterns between AI services and data platforms
Enable experimentation and production-grade AI workflows
Act as the primary technical authority for Google Cloud
Engage senior business and technology stakeholders
Provide architectural guidance and mentorship
Establish architectural standards and documentation
Support early delivery while enabling long-term platform sustainability
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in cloud and data architecture
Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery
Hands-on experience with Vertex AI or AI/ML platforms
Strong understanding of data governance and enterprise architecture
Experience leading greenfield or foundational initiatives
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Experience in utilities or regulated industries
Enterprise cloud modernization experience
Familiarity with agentic AI patterns
Onsite client-facing experience
