Regional Manager-Crisis Intervention

Responsibilities

Responsible for facilitating the evaluation and disposition of patients presenting with mental health or substance abuse needs in the Emergency Department (ED). Works with internal and external providers to ensure clinically appropriate outcomes
Demonstrates skill as a member of the Control Team, in responding to agitation/violent behavior of individuals requiring verbal de-escalation and/or physical restraint. Demonstrates competence in caring for the agitated/violent patient, who may require treatment with seclusion/restraints
Responsible for all aspects of personnel management within their defined area, including hiring, performance management, and evaluation
In collaboration with Quality and Patient Safety and Network Compliance, will ensure thorough documentation and maintenance of clinical records of all patient contact to meet standards of regulatory bodies. Performs regular audits of staff documentation to ensure compliance
Assists in the scheduling of sites within assigned region to maintain coverage within budget parameters and productivity plans
Communicates with staff regarding department and Network updates
Ensures maintenance of required elements for evaluation and renewal of identified grants
Manages relationships and serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned region with external providers, community partners, single county authorities (SCAs), payors, and other agencies
Assist in data collection and analysis including but not limited to quality, data reporting, and fidelity of program management of crisis phone line, site-based crisis services, and those services provided by mobile crisis partners
Represents Crisis Intervention Services and SLUHN on internal and external meetings to include SCAs, payors, and community partners
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. Documentation is completed in a professional and timely manner, and in accordance with hospital policy
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements
Demonstrates/models the Network’s PCRAFT values during interactions with all customers
Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety
Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes, and practices
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code

Required

Master's degree in a Human Services field required
Mental health professional with a minimum of five (5) years clinical experience with demonstrated leadership abilities required
Sound clinical knowledge in area to be managed, strong interpersonal skills, basic computer skills required
Demonstrates ability in Human Resources and Financial Resource Management
Demonstrates understanding and maintains knowledge of mental health regulations and procedures as they pertain to patient rights and status of admission
Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated
