Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role oversees the Accounts Payable function and is responsible for preparing accurate, timely financial reports.

Responsibilities

Manage the Accounts Payable function, including check processing, ACH and wire payments, and training support staff on payables procedures

Administer the corporate credit card program and prepare related reports

Ensure compliance with state and local sales tax regulations

Prepare 1099 tax filings

Prepare monthly summaries of checks and ACH payments with detailed descriptions

Complete accounting-related reports and analyses for management and government agencies

Prepare miscellaneous sales invoices

Prepare, enter, and import journal entries and other transactions into the accounting system

Monitor intercompany transactions

Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies, processes, and internal controls
