Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

Develops, observes, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and processes to reduce costs
Lead the operational team with a project based continuous improvement mindset, looking for innovative ways to execute production plan
Manage various cost accounts and projects associated with expense reductions
Review and analysis of space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
Develop and execute process improvement strategies that challenge existing operational paradigms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to redesign workflows and introduce innovative manufacturing techniques
Ability to shift organizational mindset from traditional to progressive manufacturing approaches
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
Communicate with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements process changes and improvements

Required

Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to multitask across multiple operational initiatives
Strong and effective problem identification and solution skills
