Responsibilities

Study product information to acquire professional knowledge
Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
Educate customers with product samples and brochures
Time management skills that include allocating your time appropriately to balance taking care of existing customers and actively seeking out new customers
Disciplined follow-up process that ensures projects and prospective clients move towards executed sales and long-term clients
Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
Explain technical product or service information to customers
Recommend and demonstrate products to customers and explain product features, based on customers’ needs and interest and solicit orders
Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
Maintain records of sales or other business transactions
Monitor market conditions, trends, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales
Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years sales experience in the industry
