Business Development Director
Commonstreet Consulting, LLC is a leading firm specializing in right-of-way acquisition and relocation. They are seeking a Business Development Director to drive business expansion efforts, build relationships with clients and stakeholders, and manage strategic development plans.

Responsibilities
Demonstrate a proven ability to build, develop, maintain, and deepen long-term relationships internally and externally, including with clients, partners, and key stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on trust, credibility, and collaboration
Assess operations and current sales as they relate to business development goals
Identify, contact, and inform existing and prospective clients of services available through state procurement sites and other avenues
Manage all business development efforts and be deeply knowledgeable with a proven business development track record in at least one of the main disciplines: water resources, transportation infrastructure, ports and harbors, aviation, or power
Maintain a network of contacts with A&E firms, contractors, firms, local, regional, state, and Federal agencies, cities, and industry forums (e.g. finding project leads, identifying market trends, exploring teaming opportunities, and having general and detailed knowledge of the right of way market
Gain an understanding of the client’s business needs, identify success factors and service requirements, and incorporate them into well-conceived proposal strategies
Develop internal and external communications related to business development
Manage a strategic business development plan to promote Commonstreet‘s visibility and branding
Collaborate with Operations and leadership on business development budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning to align growth strategy with operational capacity
Demonstrate a strong ability to coordinate and collaborate among different parties to satisfy company and client need
Introduce Commonstreet project managers to client representatives seeking specific services or assistance and help facilitate next steps in partnership advancement
Regularly communicate progress via trip reports, sales reports, CRM and activity summaries
Keep current on competitive moves by other service providers and competitors
Provide strong leadership and direction to business development team
Lead with a people-centered, service-oriented leadership approach that supports, develops, and empowers others while advancing company and client objectives
Schedule, facilitate and lead presentations to clients
Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company’s processes, including the quality management system
Oversee the development, documentation, and maintenance of written business development processes and procedures to ensure consistency, clarity, and scalability
Maintain company culture and effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, both with clients and internally, show a high degree of professionalism, and be resourceful and proactive in dealing with obstacles that arise
Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures
Develop and track KPIs in coordination with supervisor

Qualification
Required
Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
Strong oral and written communication skills
Highly organized, detailed oriented, and able to work within deadlines
Flexible, reliable, and dedicated self-starter who is diligent in client follow-up
Able to work occasional weekends and overtime when required
Possess current driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record
Able to treat information in a confidential manner
Demonstrate proficiency with computers and software
Able to represent Commonstreet in a professional, business-like manner
Able to travel extensively to various client offices and job sites
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in right of way/civil engineering/appraisal markets and marketing/sales preferred
Demonstrated involvement in industry associations and professional networks (e.g., American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), American Public Works Association (APWA), transportation or infrastructure associations), including participation in events, committees, or leadership roles
Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) certificate
Working knowledge of right of way consulting, engineering, or appraisal preferred
Knowledgeable of at least one of the main disciplines is preferred: transportation infrastructure, water resources, ports and harbors, aviation, or power is preferred
Knowledgeable of the WA, OR, ID, and AK markets
