Engineering Manager
Legrand, North America is a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, and they are seeking an Engineering Manager for their Data Center Power & Control Division Team in Anaheim, CA. The Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering department responsible for engineer-to-order projects, ensuring that custom designs meet customer requirements and are produced within cost constraints.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day activities of an engineer-to-order engineering department
Manage and create manufacturing packages for custom-configured cabinet assemblies
Evaluate customer requirements outlined in various sales documents supplied
Estimate the engineering lead-time required for all projects
Create 3D CAD assembly files from existing CAD models of previously designed components and accessories - configure per customer requirements
Design custom accessories in accordance with the EIA-310 standard
Design manufacturing fixtures as defined by project requirements
Create detailed part drawings, weldment drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs, and write and process ECNs
Create complete product structures with routings for the entire manufacturing package in the ERP system
Interface directly with all areas of production as required to support the progress and completion of projects
Interface directly with regulatory agencies such as UL and assist in testing
Lead and manage the performance and development of assigned team members
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; MS in Engineering is preferred
A minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering is required
A comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal-based product fabrication methods is required
Must have effective project management abilities and demonstrated ability to make timely and effective decisions, handle multiple priorities, and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure high-quality service is delivered on time and within budget
Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish a diversified workload
Proficiency in NC punch and laser programming is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
Proficiency with ERP systems is required; SAP is preferred
Proficiency with SolidWorks is required
Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment
Must be able to promote an environment that encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers, and all business partners
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information, and validate understanding of the information
